- The same Spirit that raised Jesus to life is in you too! So, expect God’s resurrection work in your life to be marked by fullness, generosity, and multiplied abundance.
- When a farmer buries a seed, he doesn’t look for another seed to grow, he looks for a whole plant with many seeds to grow. When a seed is painfully buried in your life, look with faith for God to raise up something new with multiplied abundance.
- The early Christians were focussed on heaven, expectant and excited about a resurrection life that was vastly more glorious and powerful. Read the New Testament often and be inspired to think like those first Believers.
I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).
Romans 6:4-5 (NIV)
We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.
Romans 5: 15-17 (MSG)
Yet the rescuing gift is not exactly parallel to the death-dealing sin. If one man’s sin put crowds of people at the dead-end abyss of separation from God, just think what God’s gift poured through one man, Jesus Christ, will do! There’s no comparison between that death-dealing sin and this generous, life-giving gift. The verdict on that one sin was the death sentence; the verdict on the many sins that followed was this wonderful life sentence. If death got the upper hand through one man’s wrongdoing, can you imagine the breath-taking recovery life makes, sovereign life, in those who grasp with both hands this wildly extravagant life-gift, this grand setting-everything-right, that the one man Jesus Christ provides?
Romans 8:11 (NLT)
The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.
