- What significant events or challenges lay ahead of you in 2016? How do you feel about these things? Have you committed them to God, placing them in His hands?
- What hopes, desires, or expectations have got for 2016? How will you passionately pursue these things through prayer, fasting, and seeking God for them?
- What is God wanting to do in your life in this season? What truth, growth, development is He cultivating?
In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (MSG)
Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track.
Colossians 1:5-2:1 (MSG)
The lines of purpose in your lives never grow slack, tightly tied as they are to your future in heaven, kept taut by hope… We pray that you’ll live well for the Master, making him proud of you as you work hard in his orchard. As you learn more and more how God works, you will learn how to do your work. We pray that you’ll have the strength to stick it out over the long haul—not the grim strength of gritting your teeth but the glory-strength God gives. It is strength that endures the unendurable and spills over into joy, thanking the Father who makes us strong enough to take part in everything bright and beautiful that he has for us… Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective.
1 Peter 5:6-7 (NIV)
Humble yourselves under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
Romans 12:1-2 (MSG)
So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him… fix your attention on God… Readily recognise what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it.
