- Does your awareness of failure or sin ever stop you from approaching God? Do you think there’s anything that can separate you from God’s love?
- How do you feel about your guilt being transferred to a ‘sacrificial lamb’? Do you accept this gift, even if it is underserved?
- In God’s eyes you are holy, clean, washed, radiant, blameless. So approach him with joy, confidence, and freedom. It’s what Jesus died for!
God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light
Isaiah 6:5 (NIV)
Woe to me! I cried. I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty.
Hebrews 9:14 (NIV)
How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!
Hebrews 10:10 (NIV)
We have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Ephesians 5:25-27 (NIV)
Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.
Hebrews 10:19-22 (NLT)
And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.
