This series looks at our identity in God - who God says we are: Children of God, Heirs with Christ, etc. What kind of impact should this identity have upon our experience of life? Trust According to Augustus Gordon, the Christian life can be summed up in one word: "Trust". Since the Garden of Eden, where Adam and Eve chose to distrust God's good intentions for them, the human story has been one of distrust, as we attempt to make life work on our own terms and in our own strength. God's plan is to bring us back to a life marked by the safety of complete trust in Him. In Jesus' own life on earth, he not only gave us a vivid picture of a Father God who is worth trusting, but he modelled a life of absolute trust, so that we could learn to live the same. 1. In the Footsteps of Faith This series looks at episodes from the lives of people in the Bible who demonstrated faith: faith that we can follow, ultimately making the same faith-choices these people made. Translating their circumstances into our times, in what way do we face the same challenges? What did they understand about God’s nature that helped them express faith? What can we learn from that? 1. Beggars Banquet Sharing the gospel has been described as "one beggar telling another beggar where to get a good meal". For a beggar, that is truly good news! This series aims to take a fresh look at the Christian gospel, to (re-?) discover why Jesus is such good news, and to learn how we can all find ourselves as beggars at an underserved and unexpected banquet. 1. Introduction - E. Jespersen 2. The Prodigal Son - E. Jespersen 3. The Leper’s Feast - R Payne 4. Jesus Feeds the 5000 - E. Jespersen 5. Jesus Anointed by a Sinful Woman - M. Pimm 6. David and Mephibosheth - R. Payne
Lifestyle Leadership This series is built on the definition that Leadership = Visionary Influence, and therefore we are all called to be leaders i.e. those who have vision and those who influence others. Whether it’s a mother at home influencing her children, or a person in the community influencing the neighbourhood, or a “positional” leader influencing the people he cares for. If we all have vision (a picture of God’s best for the world, businesses, communities, relationships, etc) then we should aim to influence others towards that vision. 1. Introduction - E. Jespersen 2. Culture Leadership - E. Jespersen 3. Mentoring Leadership - M. Pimm 4. Spiritual Leadership - E. Jespersen 5. Gospel Leadership - R. Payne 6. Social Leadership - P. Bennett 7. Personal Leadership - M. Pimm
Prayer Life Ronald Dunn says, "It is the life that prays. Prayer is as much position as it is petition. The prayer life rests upon the prayer's life... We cannot divorce our living from our praying." Money Jesus spoke about money more than anything else because, as he said, "where your treasure is, there your heart is also." Jesus is after our hearts! The Good Book |

|
The Good Book (The Bible) is designed to be a stabilising force in our lives. "Fearing that we would be dashed against the rocks, we dropped four anchors from the stern and prayed for daylight." Acts 27:29. When storms break into our lives, it helps to have anchors that can connect us to something bigger, something unshakeable. Filling our minds and hearts with the truths found in The Good Book gives us a ready supply of anchors to secure us to God's unshakeable kingdom whatever the circumstance. |
